“Mr. Josey mostly taught me about life. One thing that stands out to me the most is him embedding in my brain that if you keep pushing through, keep a smile on your face, and do your best at where you are now in life, you will eventually get to where you are destined to be.”
“Mr. Josey probably was the most influential person during the most important years of my life. He taught me the importance of never letting anyone or anything stand in my way of being great. Greatness isn't given, it's earned. He taught me to believe in myself and stand up for what I believe in. And finally he taught me to never let anyone take my smile from me, no matter what. I will remember that for the rest of my life.”
“During my high school years I was lucky enough to find myself seated in the classroom of Damiso Josey. He was not only an educator but someone I could lean on and come to for advice, motivation, or even just a good laugh. There was one phrase that Damiso would frequently recite - "Failure is not an option." These are words that will stick with me forever.”
"No matter what's going on at home you can be successful."
"After the color guard competition I decided to stay home and do work instead of hanging out with friends."
"You can't depend on anybody or blame anybody, you are responsible for your education."
